Girls in ICT Day

Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is celebrating the Girls in ICT Da, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, starting at 12 o’clock, at the Science and Technology Park in Belgrade, Veljka Dugoševića Street no. 54.

The event will be ceremoniously opened by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, Tatjana Matić.

The guests of the event are the girls, pupils of primary schools from Smederevo, Požarevac, Šabac, Ub and Zrenjanin, to whom successful professionals of the ICT sector will be presented.

The girls will participate in workshops on programming and robotics, and a presentation of VR technology will also be held (Virtual Reality).

Girls in ICT Day is celebrated worldwide every fourth Thursday in April, starting from 2010, at the initiative of the Republic of Serbia.

The goal of this action is to make girls and young women come closer to the information and communication technologies, the field in which professional women are not present much.

The project of the Global network of women in ICT, under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is realised by institutions, sectors, universities, and companies in the field of new technologies.

More than 240.000 girls, and young women have participated in 7.200 events in 160 countries.
