The Market Inspection Sector deals in affairs regarding: coordination of activities of monitoring and improving interdepartmental and regional cooperation in the area of market supervision, making and coordinating of operational interdepartmental plans, market supervision and merging of reports on coordinated market supervision for the Serbian Government, exchange of information and informing the public of unsafe products in the market; inspection surveillance of application of laws and other regulations which govern: trade, online trade, conditions for trade of goods and provision of services, prices of goods and services, coordination and safety of non-food products in production and trade (technical supervision), quality of services, preventing unfair competition, consumer protection, advertising, production and trade of goods which violates intellectual property rights, i.e. production and trade of goods protected by copyright and related rights, preventing money laundering and terrorism financing, trade of biocides, trade of chemicals, fiscal registers in the area of work control of authorized maintenance staff, control of packaging and packaging waste; financial-material work regarding goods confiscated in the process of inspection supervision; work directly related to carrying out inspection supervision: making procedures for carrying out inspection supervision; internal training of market inspectors for the application of new regulations and procedures in the process of inspection supervision; making reports on controls done during inspection supervision, analysis of such reports and making suggestion for the plan of control for the next period; control of the efficiency of work of the department of market inspection and market inspectors; monitoring of carrying out of orders submitted to departments; proposing measures for removing irregularities in the work of inspectors and departments; checkups and processing of  statements in initiatives for starting disciplinary proceedings; direct inspection supervision from the authority of market inspection in order to check the statements from complaints and reports on the work of inspectors and departments; preparations of authorized representatives of applicants for the inquest in the justice court; processing of cases for the Public Attorney’s Office in proceedings started by market inspectors; preparation of drafts of opinions and responses from the market inspection jurisdiction by request of companies, citizens, state bodies and organizations, consumer organizations etc.; cooperation with other inspection bodies, judicial authorities, other bodies and organizations, associations and institutions whose operations are connected with or important for the work of the Sector; submitting reports and information on the state in the areas within the purview of the Sector; other affairs in accordance with the regulations which regulate the inspection supervision.
