The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is celebrating the International Girls in Information and Communication Technologies Day (“Girls in ICT Day”) at the Cvijeta Zuzorić Arts Pavilion in Mali Kalemegdan. The event is attended by primary school pupils from Ub, Šabac, Zrenjanin and Smederevo.
At the event, successful female representatives from the field of information-communication technologies employed in the public sector, education, business, as well as for entrepreneurs and activists, will present themselves to the pupils, while in exhibition space of the Cvijeta Zuzorić Pavilion there will be shown photographs made by the pupils on the subject of “Digitally Creative”.
Tatjana Matić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications will open this event.
Girls in ICT Day is a project by the Global Network of Women in ICT, established under the auspices of the International Telecommunications Union at the proposal of the Republic of Serbia in 2010. This day is celebrated worldwide on the fourth Thursday of every April, this year on 28 April, aiming to bring occupations in the field of information and telecommunication technologies, natural sciences and engineering closer to girls and young women.
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia is celebrating Girls in ICT Day in 2016 as a part of the IT Ladies programme, part of the SMART&SAFE campaign for the development of information society.
