Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić talked today, in separate meetings, with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Chepurin, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Li Manchang and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Majid Fahimpour.

During the meeting with Ambassador Alexander Chepurin, mutual interest was expressed in signing an interstate agreement in the telecommunications sector, and the question of duty-free car exports from Serbia to Russia was also raised. It was agreed that Ljajić should discuss this subject with the relevant ministers of the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg in June this year.

At the meeting between Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajić and Ambassador Li Manchang, the promotion of cooperation in the field of tourism was discussed; this was also one of the main themes of the recent Summit of China, Central and Eastern Europe in Belgrade. Ljajić and Li Manchang agreed that a group of Chinese journalists will visit Serbia soon in order to present the tourism potentials of Serbia to the general public in their country, in order to attract a larger number of tourists from that country.

Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajić and Ambassador Majid Fahimpour discussed the possibilities of increasing the volume of trade exchange between Serbia and Iran, bearing in mind the modest results of the current trade cooperation. Ljajić and Fahimpour agreed that there is potential to increase exports of Serbian agricultural and food products to Iran, as well as to intensify cooperation in the field of pharmacy.
