The great interest of citizens in the “Replacement of Driver’s License” eService

As of today, citizens, who started submitting their applications to replace old driver’s licenses through the eGovernment Portal two days ago, will be able to collect their extended driver’s licenses. Drivers will be able to collect the new driver’s license cards in police stations according to their places of residence.

The putting into operation of this service has caused great interest among citizens and so far over 1000 requests for replacement of the old (paper) driving license have been submitted via the eGovernment Portal. In the last two days, 100000 registered visitors to the Portal requested information about the new service.

Citizens who will be able to collect their new driver’s licenses today filed a request immediately upon the putting into operation of this e-service, using an ID card with a chip, and by making a payment via a single payment form. After the payment has been made, the new driver’s license is sent to a police station according to the place of residence, as provided by the citizen via e-mail.

Payments can be made via electronic banking or in banks, and the possibility of credit card payment is expected soon, as it is being negotiated between the Directorate for Digital Agenda and the Ministry of Finance. There is a plan to introduce the possibility of notifications via SMS.

In addition to the “Replacement of Driver’s License” service, which was put into operation on February 25, the eGovernment has previously established many other eServices. On the same day, 1500 application for extension of registration stickers on a total of 328 authorized technical inspections across Serbia have been filed, and 350 dates for issuance of identity cards and passports have been scheduled. At the same time, on 150 counters across Serbia 300 dates for submission of claims for restitution of property, or compensation have been scheduled.
