Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met today with US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby to discuss plans for improvement of cooperation between the two countries in the field of telecommunications, and information and communications technology.
Kirby expressed satisfaction with the results of the recent visit of Prime Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic to the United States, during which prospects were created for boosting business ties between IT companies in the two countries, as well as opportunities for new American investments in this field in Serbia.
The US Ambassador made a special reference to the high quality of IT professionals in Serbia, adding that human resources is a guarantee for the continued growth of this industry in the country.
Ljajic said that the growth of the IT industry in Serbia year in year out, despite the global economic crisis, is a proof of the vitality of this sector and called on American companies to increase their investment in the industry of information and communications technology in Serbia.
