The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Stevan Nikčević headed a group of businessmen from 32 companies in Serbia which discussed, in Kiev, with representatives of the French retail chain “Auchan” the possibility of exporting Serbian food products and household chemicals to the markets of this company in the Central and East European countries.
The representatives of the 32 companies which produce agricultural, food and confectionary products and household chemicals presented the assortment and prices of their products in the headquarters of “Auchan” for Central and East European countries. Both sides expressed their belief that, after the representatives of “Auchan” consider the offer of the Serbian companies, concrete cooperation will be established within a very short period of time.
The visit of the Serbian businessmen delegation to the headquarters of “Auchan” for Central and East European countries in Kiev is the result of the agreement established by the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić with the management of this company in June, in Belgrade.
“Auchan” company is the second largest retail chain in France and the tenth in the world with an annual revenue of 47 billion euros and more than 300000 employees. This company which operates in 12 countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe and Asia and has more than 50000 items on offer, has signed agreements with more than 1500 suppliers.
