Public-Private Partnership for development of information safety

State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić, has said that the Republic of Serbia has recognised the global focus on the information safety and that in line with that it adopted excellent legislation to regulate this field.

At the IBM Security conference on information safety, she has reminded that in the previous years until now Serbia has made great moves forward when it comes to the completion of the legal and strategic frame of the information safety, by adopting the Law on Information Safety and by adopting bylaws, and the Strategy of Development of Information Safety on May 29, this year.

“The next great challenge is the investment in this field, which is of key significance for encouraging the public-private partnership, and cooperation between the public and private sector, on the national but also on the international level “, Ms Matić has emphasized.

State Secretary, who is also the manager of the Coordination Body for Information Safety Operations of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, has said that development of the information safety must be one of the priorities especially in the light of quite frequent global cyber-attacks, such as the recent “WannaCry”, but also terrorist attacks closely related to the deterioration of the information safety.

The conference on the information safety was participated by the representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, National Bank of Serbia and companies IBM and Telenor.
