Assistant Minister for tourism Ms Renata Pindzo, as a guest in the morning RTS Daily news, has said that, according to the latest information from the Antalya region, where our tourist are staying, there are no problems and that travel arrangements are smoothly realised.
“The latest information is that the morning charter flight to Antalya was realised as planned and that 141 passengers, including five babies, went to Antalya and there were no cancellations. In the meeting we discussed the situation faced by our tourist in Antalya and the region. According to our knowledge, the tourist season in the Antalya region has been realised as planned, as well as the charter flights, but that we will still keep monitoring the situation on the field, having in mind the situation which has occurred”, Ms Pindzo has said.
She has also stated that immediately after the coup attempt, the Serbian Government sent a plane for the citizen who stayed in Turkey at that moment and that about thirty passengers boarded on the plane.
Speaking of possible trip cancellations, Ms Pindzo has confirmed that there have been no requests from the tourists in the summer resort to return, but that some tourists, who should have travelled immediately after the coup attempt, had cancelled their trips. “This particularly refers to the passengers whose plan was to travel on 16 and 17 July.
Travel agencies make maximal efforts trying to find an alternative solution in order to help the tourists realise their planned holidays, and not to jeopardise their business at the same time”, Ms Pindzo has concluded.
The Assistant Minister has also pointed out that there are no official bans on trips to Turkey and that it is still attractive as a tourist destination. However, she has added that the citizens themselves must consider the situation since there are those who decided to have their summer holiday in Tunisian and Egypt even though our agencies withdraw from selling arrangement due to safety reasons.
