In a statement for the Morning Program of RTS, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić said that there are no authorized workers who install STBs and warned that it is completely untrue that the State authorized these workers to help citizens in the digitalization process.

A family in Šabac has been receiving frequent offers to have workers come to their house sell them an STB device and install it. They claim that now, this service costs 2500 RSD, but that it will cost 7000 RSD in the new year.

STBs can only be bought in technical equipment stores. The device comes with an instruction manual. The installation procedure is simple and there is no need for workers.

Citizens are encouraged to submit a complaint to the market inspection if they are approached by the so called authorized workers. The Guarantee Stamp of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is the only guarantee that the device is functional.
