Ljajić: Export to Germany increased by 26 per cent

Serbian export to Germany from January to June this year increased by 26 per cent, comparing to the same period last year, and it reached EUR 877 million, as said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication to the Tanjug. The coverage of import with the export, in the exchange with Germany, as he has added, has reached the amazing 80 per cent.

“If this trend continues, by the end of this year our export to the strongest European economy could reach the number of 2 billion euros, and the total exchange in good will exceed the amount of 4 billion euros”, says Mr Ljajić.

Minister has stressed that apart from the numbers, the structure of our export to Germany has significantly improved in favour of the products of a higher level of processing, since even 55% of our export are machines and transport devices.

AC generators, machine parts, ignition wires sets, frozen raspberries, dialysis equipment, electronic resistors, spare parts and equipment for motor vehicles, medicines, cars, products of aluminium, rubber products, hula hop socks.

Mr Ljajić has said that the share of agricultural and food products in the total export to Germany is about 10% and that in the exchange of that type of products we have had a surplus for years.

“When it comes to the export of fruit to Germany, frozen raspberry is number one, and its export in the first six months of this year increased by 40 per cent and amounts to 43 million euros. The surplus is recorded in service trade as well”, Minister concluded.
