Joint touristic product of Serbia and Montenegro for conquering third markets

Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić has said that the joint touristic product of Serbia and Montenegro is undoubtedly the crown of the cooperation of the two countries in the field of tourism.

Mr Ljajić has expressed his pleasure about the promotion of something concrete and practical benefiting the economies of both countries at the time when Montenegro is the partner countries at the International Fair of Tourism in Belgrade.

According to his words, the regional cooperation has made a step forward and from the declarations and phrases we are now in a concrete field of cooperation.

Speaking of the product itself, the Minister has said that the offer has seven joint programmes to be presented to third markets, for the beginning at the Fair of Tourism in China.

“The product has a wide variety of offers from sea, mountain and spa tourism, to gastronomy, all what the two countries have to offer as countries with significant touristic potentials”, Mr Ljajić has stated.

He has also announced that this won’t end here, but that tomorrow a follow-up agreement will be signed for the cooperation in the field of tourism, defining the establishment of a working group in a constant seating with the aim to monitor the realisation of the agreements and designing new products.

Minister has also said that the plan is to jointly enter the Iranian market and that this year the first tourists from Iran will visit the two countries.

In that respect, he has reminded that we are going to be the only country to open a touristic office in Tehran, and Montenegro is also offered to join.

He has reminded that Serbia is already presenting the joint touristic offer with the B&H, the tour “Valter’s ways”, working currently on the “Tito’s ways”.

Mr Ljajić has pointed out the great potential in this part of historical heritage minimized here.

In the same manner, he has said that the Museum “25th of May” is visited by around 120.000 people annually, which is about 80 per cent of all the foreign tourists.

Also, he has announced that Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro will apply for the project for cycling tours of Belgrade, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Herceg Novi, Žabljak, expecting the support by the EU when it comes to the realisation.

Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro Pave Radulović has expressed his pleasure for having Montenegro as a partner country at the Belgrade Fair, stressing that the regional cooperation is a significant precondition for strengthening the competition and one of the most serious ways of developing tourism as an economic sector in the entire region.

“The joint touristic product is a set of the best the countries can offer and it is better than the one each country can offer independently. This region is rich in offers but not popularised enough.” Mr Radulović has said.

President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia Marko Čadež has said that the project has gathered 35 economic entities in Serbia and around 15 touristic attractions, such as national parks, resorts and monasteries.

The project is, according to his words, a confirmation that the tourism has been recognised as an important instrument of a regional cooperation and a strong catalyst in the process of European integrations.

Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro have created a unique touristic offer, a joint touristic product, based on a specific natural and cultural heritage of the two countries, in order to improve the regional cooperation in the field of tourism.

The offer includes a better visibility of the region, extension of the touristic season and a better presentation and placement of touristic programmes of the two countries on third markets.
