Fish Fest is the most visited of all the events that take place on the Danube

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić opened the 9th Fish Fest in Belgrade, where chefs from Serbia and the region are going to present their culinary skills in the next three days.

Rasim Ljajić pointed out that Fish Fest is the most visited of all the events that take place on rivers in Serbia.

The Fish Fest is one of the 456 events that take place on the entire course of Danube and is listed as one of the 15 most important tourist events on the European Travel Commission portal which promotes Europe as a tourist and a gastronomic destination.

“This is a chance to show off two of our most important tourist potentials, the Danube and cuisine”, Ljajić said at the Nebojša Tower quay, where The Fish Fest takes place.

He also stated that more than 500 ships, with around 65,000 tourists annually visit Belgrade and Novi Sad alone and that Serbia has six wharfs for tourist cruisers along the Danube.

The Serbian Government has secured the funds for the construction of five more wharfs which should be finished in the next six months, he added.
