Tatjana Matić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications stated for the RTS morning program that the call center for digitalization, which started operating on Friday, April 3, will provide citizens with all necessary information about the process of transition from analog to digital TV broadcasting. The number of the call center is 18911.
“The relevant Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications in cooperation with the Post of Serbia is implementing the call center project,” said Matić.
She added that the call center operators will provide consumers with answers to all questions related to the process of transition to digital broadcasting.
“The most important questions are when will the analog signal be completely switched off, in which cities, towns, and what is the plan of transition,” said Tatjana Matić.
Speaking about the information that will be provided through the call center, Tatjana Matić said that citizens will be able to get information about what kind of equipment is needed to be able to receive a digital signal, and all other matters related to the process of digitalization as well as the opportunities provided by this new form of broadcasting.
“In cooperation with the Post of Serbia, we started handing out the vouchers for set-top-box devices to socially vulnerable groups. Vouchers will be delivered to the home addresses of socially vulnerable citizens in Vršac today. Vršac is the first city that will start broadcasting exclusively digital signals on April 15,” said Tatjana Matić.
She urged the citizens of Vršac to take the vouchers and get their STB device by said date.
“More than 100 operators in the call-center will be able to take calls at the same time and answer questions. Currently there are 40 operators working in the call center because we are only at the beginning, but when we start switching larger regions, such as Avala, exclusively to digital broadcasting, then all available operators from the Post of Serbia will be involved,” said Tatjana Matić.
