The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) came into force after being published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China in the field of ICT was signed at the end of August 2013, during the visit of the state delegation of the Republic of Serbia to Beijing, and came into force on October 31.

This memorandum was drafted in accordance with the Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Serbia published by the Heads of State and in accordance with the Agreement on economic and technical cooperation in the field of infrastructure between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Serbia from August 2009.

The aim of the Memorandum is to strengthen the development and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of ICT and the promotion of the social and economic development of the two friendly countries. The memorandum defines the methods and forms of cooperation which the two ministries responsible for ICT will implement and promote in the future.
