Stefan Lazarevic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications opening ceremony for the 40 years of the Society for Information Technology Serbia (ITS) and said that the evidence of this association is very long tradition of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Serbia.

The State Secretary for receiving recognition for achievement and outstanding contribution to the development of information, thanks to ITS for their cooperation and active contribution to the development of electronic public administration in Serbia.

Lazarevic has drawn attention to the importance of ICT is to strengthen the competitiveness of state and public sector reform. He noted that ICT is an important link as in the economics as a social development of country.

The application of ICT in times of crisis is recognized as extremely important for the efficient operation of state government as an inevitable factor in reforms aimed at achieving significant savings in the budget, said Lazarevic.

Acknowledgements to ITS for outstanding contribution to the development of science in Serbia, was awarded to Nebojsa Vasiljevic, assistant to minister of foreign and domestic trade and telecommunications.

ITS is our oldest professional association which gather the professionals in the field of ICT was founded in 1973.

The Company monitors and popularizing modern advances in informatics, collaboration with state authorities in proposing measures for the development of information technology and networking professionals involved in the production, development, application and education in the field of IT.

Society for Information Technology Serbia for 40 years has organized hundreds of meetings, conferences and presentations on new technologies which are involved ten thousand of professionals.
