Improving the relations between Serbia and China in tourism

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Li Manchang, and discussed the improvement of the cooperation in tourism between the two countries.

Ambassador Li Manchang has expressed his pleasure that Serbia is visited by an increasing number of Chinese tourists, adding that opening a direct flight between Serbia and China would increase the tourism income of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Mr Ljajić has said that the Republic of Serbia had a rather successful presentation in the International Fair of Tourism in Shanghai, when 90 tour operators from China showed their interest in bringing tourists to Serbia, to whom, in addition to other programmes, the route “The Walter Route” was presented. This route connects several cities in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, of importance for life and work of the famous actor Velimir Bata Živojinović.

Ambassador Li Manchang has made an official invitation to the Minister Ljajić stating that Serbia could be a partner country in the international commerce – trade fair “The Silk Road” in the Chinese province Shaanxi. Mr Li Machang has added that the PR of China will fully cover the participation of Serbia in the fair, which will be attended by the presenters from all over the world.
