State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić has stated regarding the warning of the National CERT in the Republic of Serbia, RATEL, on spreading of the new computer virus “Spider”, that frequent and massive attacks require additional strengthening of the capacities in the field of digital safety.
“Since this malicious software, like majority of computer viruses, are launched by computer and mobile phone users themselves, the most important thing is education, and preventive reactions of competent bodies”, Ms Matić stressed, stating that information about the transfer of the virus and the actions in case a device becomes infected, was issued by the National CERT – Office for IT and e-Governance.
State Secretary, who is also the president of the Coordination Body for Information Safety, has reminded that the legal framework of digital protection has been strengthened by the adoption and implementation of the Law on Information Safety, which defines measures of protection and manners of reporting and reaction to the incidents.
