TV Banat is the first regional TV in Serbia to switch to digital broadcasting

TV Banat is the first regional television channel in Serbia to fully switch from analog to digital terrestrial broadcasting.

The first date for the transition to digital TV in Serbia is April 15 and from that date, all the analog transmitters in the Vršac distribution zone will be switched off.

Licenses for digital TV broadcasting have been issued by the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media to TV Banat, as well as to two local stations, TV Lav Plus and TV Viktorija.

The local population will also be able to receive digital television channels of the national broadcaster and provincial broadcaster, as well as national commercial TV channels.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić said that vouchers and a list of the retail stores where citizens can exchange these vouchers for STBs have been delivered to the home addresses of all the citizens that have applied for the subsidized purchase of STB devices in Vršac. She noted that the retail stores in Vršac are well stocked.
