Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić, presided over the second session of the National Council for the Development of Tourism of the Republic of Serbia which was held today in the Palace of Serbia.
Today we mark the end of the formal public debate on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Tourism and the next Council meeting will be devoted solely to the subject so that we can discuss each point of the draft law before it goes into government and parliamentary procedure, said Ljajić.
He said that this legislative act will be aligned with the Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2016 to 2025, which is being prepared.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Lukrecija Đeri said that the Working Group on amendments to the Law on Tourism recieved more than 40 proposals, but that many of them cannot be harmonized with the Law on Budget and Law on Local Government Finance and hence cannot be included in the amendments.
Deputy President of the Council, and director emeritus of the Department of Postgraduate Studies and International Cooperation of Singidunum University prof. Dr. Slobodan Unković said that it is important consider the importance of tourism in correlation with the transportation infrastructure, the marketing of agricultural products, as well as in connection with industrial production, trade, telecommunications, ecology, sports and culture.
At the meeting, the members of four expert working groups were appointed, namely: Improving the investment climate, location of tourism in the Republic of Serbia, which is coordinated by prof. Dr. Slobodan Unković; Improving management, tourism product development, promotion and marketing, coordinated by the Director of the Tourist Organization of Serbia Gordana Plamenac; Statistics and analysis, and market research coordinated by an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade Dr. Emilija Manić, and Connecting labor market needs and education which is coordinated by the Director of HORES Georgi Genov.
