The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić, signed the Rule book on the determination of the frequency allocation plan for analog FM and TV broadcasting stations in the Republic of Serbia.
The application of the said Rule book will accelerate the process of transition from analog to digital television broadcasting in the Republic of Serbia and will remove one of the biggest obstacles in the current process of digitization, which is the lack of available frequencies.
This means that part of the frequencies which once belonged to TV Avala, and which are necessary in the process of digitalization will be used to expand the initial network for digital television broadcasting, while the independent regulatory bodies will dispose of the remainder of the spectrum in accordance with their responsibilities and the current legislation.
On the other hand, signing the Rule book created the conditions for the use of all the equipment for digital television broadcasting, which Serbia has received from the European Union and which has a value of more than 8 million euros.
