By the Decision of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and the Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić from October 17, 2013, the joint stock company for testing quality “Kvalitet” has been appointed as the body responsible for assessing the conformity of radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment with the relevant requirements of the Regulations on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment (“RS Official Gazette”, no. 67/11 and 11/12).
Based on this Decision, “Kvalitet” will assess the conformity of the following types of equipment:
– Information technology equipment,
– Industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio-frequency devices,
– Short Range Devices (SRD):
- unspecified;
- SRD for locating and monitoring;
- Broadband wireless data transmission networks;
- SRD for radiodetermination applications
- SRD for alarms;
- SRD for model management;
- SRD with inductive application;
- Radio microphones, and hearing aids;
- Radio frequency identification systems (RFID);
- Active medical implants and associated peripherals;
- Wireless applications in healthcare;
- SRD for wireless audio applications.
The Ministry responsible for electronic communications appointed on May 29, 2012 the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications (RATEL) as the body responsible for assessing the conformity of radio and telecommunications terminal (RTT) equipment with the relevant requirements of the Regulations.
This means that there are currently two bodies designated for conformity assessment of RTT equipment with the Regulations, which will provide a greater range of possibilities for importers and manufacturers of equipment that is subject to the conformity assessment.
