The digitalization process is progressing according to plan
The working group analyzed the activities undertaken in the process of switching from analogue to digital broadcasting and concluded that, in the past few months, significant progress was made. It has been stated that the construction work on the broadcasting sites will be completed in time, and that the PE “ETV” is conducting the procurement of equipment financed from the EBRD loan in accordance with the planned schedule. After the Government of the Republic of Serbia passed a regulation which prescribes a measure to help citizens in the process of digitalization, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications will prepare a public call for citizens who are entitled to receive a free STB device.

The working group reviewed the plan to inform the public about the process of digitalization through a media campaign and endorsed the concept of creative videos to be prepared by RTS, and broadcasted by all national, regional and local broadcasters.

The model of the PE “ETV” for price formation for digital broadcasting was presented at the meeting. The model should enable the predictability of the activities of all broadcasters and enable local and regional broadcasters to go through the digitalization process more smoothly.
