The allocation of STB devices to the vulnerable population

In the process of transition from analog to digital television broadcasting, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications issued a public call to vulnerable consumers to apply for the allocation of Set Top Boxes (STBs) – equipment which enables the reception of digital television signals to TVs on which the program received via a room or roof antenna.

The categories of the most vulnerable consumers, those receiving financial and material social assistance, pensioners with the lowest pension income and persons receiving care and assistance, have the right to receive free STB devices.

Citizens will be able to apply for a free STB device at Centers for Social Welfare and all the branches of the PIO Fund.

The completion of the process of distribution of free STBs is planned for January 31, 2015.

STB devices will be delivered to the home addresses of the registered citizens.
