Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić talked today with charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Qatar in Serbia Ahmed Al-Missned on improving overall relations between the two countries and expanding the scope of economic cooperation.
Al-Missned expressed the need for the engagement of doctors of all specialties and nursing staff from Serbia in Qatar, given the fact that Qatar plans to open a large number of health facilities ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ljajić and Al-Missned agreed that intergovernmental agreements on economic and technical cooperation, investment protection, cooperation in tourism and visa liberalization should be signed as soon as possible. These agreements could significantly contribute to the improvement of economic cooperation and the influx of Qatari investments in Serbia.
Al-Missned announced that the Embassy of Qatar in Serbia will be officially opened next month, when the arrival of the Ambassador is expected.
