State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbian Government, Tatjana Matić has said that developing countries, such as Serbia, have a difficult but clear task to progress until they reach a modern digital society based on digital economy.
In her opening address at the conference of “IDC Predictions 2017”, at Falkensteiner Hotel in Belgrade, Ms Matić has said that Serbia is getting ready for the Digital Single Market.
“In order to reach the services of intelligent transport systems, the advanced digital solutions in production, smart energy, e-Health, smart environmental monitoring and all other smart services, it is important to have a single voice on data liberalisation globally, the access to data, safety of data, management of data… It means that we all together have a new, very important issue of standardisation as a mechanism of interoperability”; Ms Tatjana Matić has stated.
“Common standards are of strategic significance for interoperability of all digital technologies and represent a foundation of the Digital Single Market. The standards have to be set so that they ensure openness and safety, agile connection of various stakeholders and citizens, and thus contribute to the development of digital economy and digital society”, State Secretary has concluded.
In the conference in which the latest research of the American company International Data Corporation (IDC) was presented, the opening speech was given by the American Ambassador to Serbia, Mr Kyle Scott.
