Assistant Minister in the Department for Information Society, Sava Savić, participated in the tenth SMART E-GOVERNMENT Conference.
The conference was organized with the aim of discussing the growing trends in the standardization of new technologies for building a modern information society, as well as to present the leading technical achievements in the field of e-identity and e-government applications.
On this occasion, Savić stated that “the ICT sector is a strategic sector in the Republic of Serbia, and ICT is a dominant branch of economy, and that the digital economy is recognized as the fourth industrial revolution. The development of the information society should be directed towards the utilization of the potential of ICT to increase efficiency, economic growth, achieve higher employment rates and improve the quality of life of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia”.
Savić said that modernism brings the digitalization of the business and life environment, that electronic services are becoming a way of life, and that there is a need for further development and improvement of e-business. In this regard, the Assistant Minister said that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications seeks to achieve ambitious goals in the development and application of ICT, to create an ecosystems and climate sustainable for the development of e-business, information society and society as a whole.
The Assistant Minister applauded the organization of the conference and thanked the audience for actively participating in the event.
