Rising trend of the cooperation between Serbia and Russian Federation in tourism

Assistant Minister for Tourism Renata Pindžo has stated in the second meeting of the Work Group for Tourism in Serbia and Russian Federation that in 2016 Serbia had an increase in the number of Russian tourist thanks to the good relations of the two countries.

When the two delegations met, during the 24th International Fair of Tourism and Travel in Moscow which has recently ended, it was stated that so far all the planned activities have been realised in line with the adopted Plan of joint activities for the period 2016-2018, and that he cooperation of Serbia and Russian Federation in tourism has been on a rising trend in the past couple of years.

Director of Serbian Tourism Organisation Marija Labović has presented the results and the plan of the Serbian Tourism Organisation for the Russian market in 2017, emphasizing that the support of Russian officials is of extreme significance for the realisation of the set objectives when it comes to conquering this market.

The two sides have agreed concrete steps when it comes to the cultural and thematic routes in order to make the joint product devoted to the orthodox cultural heritage certified by the Council of Europe.

International Russian Academy for Tourism from Moscow and TO of Zlatibor have also agreed on the arrival of Russian students to attend practical lessons in the most famous whole-year destinations in Serbia, and they also talked about encouraging the exchange and cooperation of sports clubs.

It was the first time this year that Russia participated in the Fair of Tourism in Belgrade, and they have also confirmed their participation for the next year, when Belgrade is going to organise the jubilee of the 40th International Fair of Tourism.

In 2016 in Serbia, there were 43.916 arrivals of tourists from Russia which makes an increase by 5.5 per cent compared to the number of tourists from 2015.
