State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić has expressed her hope that the new technology centre for IT education and start-ups, in Zrenjanin, will contribute to the development of the IT community in that city.
At the ceremonial opening of the Start-up Centre in the building of the National Theatre “Toša Jovanović”, the State Secretary has pointed out that such initiatives will contribute to the general prosperity of local communities, i.e. bridging of the digital gap and connection of IT potentials on the territory of entire Serbia.
“I’m sure that the new Start-up Centre will be not only a place for free IT education and joint work on technology start-ups, but also a hub for talented young people and place for creation of new ideas in the field which has for a long time been the most prosperous and the healthiest”, Ms Tatjana Matić has underlined.
She has reminded that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications has supported the development of the IT community at the local level, within a Public Call for granting funds for the programmes in the field of information society development, in which ten projects of IT communities have been approved.
“These projects should contribute to the networking of the citizens and companies at the local level, and to increase the competences of citizens in the field of ICT industry and technological entrepreneurship, in order to ensure employment and self-employment in the ICT field”, State Secretary has said.
Project are being realised, inter alia, in Bor, Kragujevac, Vranje, Sombor and Kikinda.
