Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić and Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovičić have opened the city swimming pool in Sremska Mitrovica which construction lasted eighteen months.
On that occasion Mr Ljajić said that tourism and sport usually go hand in hand and that they are not just fun and recreation, but should initiate a development. “That’s something which can really happen, id we have a good sport infrastructure since it provides conditions to develop sport and tourism, to provide preparations to a large number of athletes, and among other things, here in Sremska Mitrovica as well”, says Mr Ljajić.
Minister said that these investments will attract investors to invest in private accommodation. “This is a signal to them that it pays off to invest in hotels and other accommodation capacities, since that investment will soon pay off having in mind the potentials it has”, he assessed.
Mr Ljajić concluded that Sremska Mitrovica has things to be proud of, not only with this facility but various resources, cultural heritage, ideal resorts and excursion sites.
Minister Udovičić has said that for him there is no better feeling that when opening a swimming pool and that sport best illustrates what means a team work and that without a team work there are no results.
