State Secretary for Tourism Miroslav Knežević has said that Valjevo and Divčibare are singled out as authentic touristic destination marking excellent touristic year of 2017, with the growth in the number of tourists in the amount of 26 per cent.
During the meeting, organised in Divčibare with the aim to improve the touristic development of the city of Valjevo and its surrounding, there were talks about the dynamics of the realisation of the water supply and sewage projects which is of key importance for the future development and investment in the private sector in Divčibare.
Representatives of the city of Valjevo have familiarised themselves with the dynamics of the realisation of the investment project of brothers Teodosić, while the Touristic Organisation of Valjevo has presented the development plans and projects for Divčibare.
In addition to Divčibare and Brankovina, representatives of the Ministry have visited the Research Station Petnica, organising a large number of several-day courses, seminars, scientific camps, workshops and similar programmes every year.
The Petnica is regularly visited by teachers and pupils from Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Russia, Israel, Germany, Italy and other countries. In 2017 there were 35.000 overnight stays.
Therefore, Petnica, as well as Petnička Cave, Brankovina, Divčibare, and other sights of the Valjevo region should be integrated into a single touristic offer, and presented and offered to the increasingly demanding touristic market in a modern manner, concluded the representatives of the line Ministry, city of Valjevo, church municipality of Divčibare, and the Touristic Organisation of Valjevo.
