“More than 5000 pupils have participated in the presentations on protection from digital violence and other forms of internet abuse, held in this year’s IT Caravan”, as stated by State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić.
The last programme of the campaign this year for smart and safe use of new technologies was presented for the pupils of primary school “Nikola Vukićević” in Sombor.
“We’ve talked with the pupils about the dangers on the Internet, among other things, about how to recognize and report the so called game challenges, predators and similar negative online phenomena, but also about positive abilities provided by technologies for their faster development in learning and working”, Ms Matić has stressed.
She has reminded that for primary school pupils there were workshops on robotics, and that to every out of 17 schools covered by the programme, were given educational sets of robots for programme learning, with which pupils could participate in a prize-winning competition next school year.
Presentations were given by an actor and musician Bojan Ivković, psychologists and experts for digital communications Ana Mirković and Sanja Knežević, as well as inspectors from the Ministry of Interior, while the basics of robotics were demonstrated by instructors from the association Edulab.
The campaign IT Caravan launched last year has so far been to 15 cities in Serbia, and this year it was realised from April 12 until May 25, and apart from schools the programme was presented in technological and cultural centres, and at city squares, where citizens promoted programmes for development of the information society.
Partners of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications on the project are the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ministry of Interior, Organisation Save the Children for North-West Balkans and company Microsoft, and the campaing has been realised in Novi Pazar, Pirot, Niš, Zaječar, Kraljevo, Užice, Čačak, Valjevo, Kragujevac, Subotica, Novi Sad, Pančevo and Sombor.
