In an interview for the morning program of Studio B, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić said that the announcement of a public call for applications for the allocation of set-top box (STB) devices is expected by the end of next week. The free STB devices are intended for financially disadvantaged citizens.

“The Government of RS has adopted a Regulation which defines the categories of the most vulnerable consumers as those receiving financial and material social assistance, pensioners with the lowest pension income and persons receiving care and assistance”, said the State Secretary.

Centers for Social Welfare and the branches of the PIO Fund will accept applications for the free allocation of devices to persons who fulfill the conditions defined in the Regulation.

The State Secretary urged citizens to apply as soon as possible adding that the plan is to deliver the first STBs to the most vulnerable citizens starting March 1.
