State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić met today with the Director of the British Council for the Western Balkans Tony O’Brien, the President of the National Education Council Desanka Radunović and David Hassel, an expert from the United Kingdom.
The topic of the meeting was the establishment and development of common objectives in the direction of application of ICT in education, which will be presented in more detail in tomorrow’s round table organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and the National Education Council, with technical and financial support from the British Council and the Team for Social Inclusion and poverty Reduction of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
It was agreed that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and telecommunications will support the adoption of an action plan for promoting the role of ICT in education, and the establishment of an interdisciplinary council that would unite experts from various fields to achieve the activities envisaged by the action plan.
The National Education Council and the British Council have supported the idea of establishing a budget fund from which projects related to the implementation of ICT in education would be financed.
