State Secretary Tatjana Matić, was a guest on TV Pink’s program “Prelistavanju štampe”; she said the she was at Cer on Friday where certain works have been finalized, in particular the antenna tower that was completely destroyed during the bombing of the 90s. She stressed that the antenna tower was built by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
“This brand new antenna tower will cover that part of Serbia and the region, the largest cities: Šabac, Loznica, Sremska Mitrovica; the antenna will provide digital signal for about 450 000 people and it is one of the last antennas which were reconstructed. This completes the last technical part of the preparation for the actual digitalization,” said the State Secretary.
Tatjana Matić noted that citizens, who have old TVs and who use room or roof antennas to receive TV signals, need to acquire a set top box that will allow them to receive the digital signal.
“Devices are already available. The prices are affordable, they vary depending on the technical specifications and available resources, and are mainly between 2500 and 3000 RSD,” said Matić.
The Ministry plans to complete the process of digitalization next year, after that the Ministry will take on new challenges, concluded the State Secretary.
