Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić announced that the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism with Abu Dhabi will be signed during the upcoming Tourism Fair in Belgrade. The agreement will involve the exchange of experts, mutual visits and the preparation of a joint tourist offer.
At the reception hosted by the UAE Embassy in Belgrade to mark the participation of this country as Serbia’s partner in the 37th edition of the International Tourism Fair in Serbia, Ljajić told reporters that he was certain that we will have a record number of exhibitors this year – more than 1,100.
“We will also sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism with Abu Dhabi which involves the exchange of specialists, experts, mutual visits, creating a joint tourist offer, noting that the fact that we have a joint airline has largely contributed to the increase in the number of tourists from the UAE “, said Ljajić.
He recalled that there are 18 weekly flights on the route Belgrade-Abu Dhabi, and that citizens of the UAE are exempt from visa requirements. All this lead to a significantly higher percentage of visitors and tourists from this country,” said Ljajić.
He said that exhibitors from more than 49 countries will participate in the Fair, and that an enormous presence and interest in the Fair is to be expected.
“In this manner, Serbia is being positioned on the tourist map of Europe and the world. Additionally, it seems that, for the first time, tourism is becoming an important economic sector in Serbia,” concluded Ljajić.
The Tourism Fair will be held from 19 to 22 February at the Belgrade Fair.
