Local roads in the vicinity of Bajina Bašta are in very poor condition, and in some places completely severed by landslides or displaced water flows, or buried by rockfalls, so movement is still very difficult.
“There is still no damage assessment, the municipal crisis staff is working on it, but obviously we are dealing with enormous material damage, above all in infrastructure, agricultural land, and homes”, Ljajić stated to the press.
He promised that the Government of the Republic of Serbia will provide help, especially in construction material, and that the Government will do everything to help indemnify the damages as soon as possible.
The president of Bajina Bašta municipality said that fuel and construction material are needed most, whereas power supply has been normalized.
According to him, the municipalities of Čajetina and Nova Varoš have sent aid in manpower and equipment.
Filipović added that construction machines for repairing roads and terrain are of the utmost importance, but there is a problem with introducing heavy machinery since the terrain is still loose.
