Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić met today with Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and Public Administration Rumiana Bacharova to discuss ways of improving the economic relations, and especially trade exchange between the two countries.
There is potential for higher export of agricultural and food products and construction materials from Serbia to Bulgaria, noted Ljajić.
Minister Ljajić proposed signing a tourism agreement with Bulgaria and stressed the significance of joint appearance on other markets. The two officials discussed the option of Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania establishing a joint office in China that would work to attract tourists to these three countries.
Ljajić and Bachvarova spoke also about the construction of a gas pipeline between Sofia and Niš.
After the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ljajić attended the opening of the new building of the Bulgarian Trade Office in Belgrade.
