Institutions of culture are becoming a part of the Academic network

State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić and State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Information Novica Antić have signed the Agreement on establishing the Joint Body for realisation of activities on connecting institutions of culture to the infrastructure of the Public Information and Communication Institution “Academic Network of the Republic of Serbia – AMRES”.

State Secretary Tatjana Matić has stated that based on this agreement the project of connecting 19 key institutions of culture to the Academic Network of Serbia will be realised in Serbia.
“National museums, archives, institutes, National theatre, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will get a stabile internet connection and will become a part of the European and world academic network, with the ability to use international services of connection, digital promotion of cultural heritage and contemporary art of Serbia, exchange of experience, information and education”, Ms Matić has emphasized, pointing out that it is only the beginning of strengthening of the information and communication infrastructure of institutions of culture.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Information Novica Antić has thanked to the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications for recognizing the importance of the joint project on improving the development of the infrastructure and services intended for the open access to digitalised content of Serbian heritage and contemporary art in the institutions of culture of the Republic of Serbia.

“At this moment we are signing the agreement for 19 institutions of culture out of 42 planned”, Mr Antić has added.
He has pointed out that this is just the start of the intersectoral cooperation for strengthening of the capacities of institutions of culture since other infrastructure projects are planned as well.

The Joint Body to be formed based on the Agreement will be consisted of the representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and Ministry of Culture and Information and Academic Network of Serbia.
