Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljaić, being a guest in the RTS Dnevnik, said that in the meeting held today in Sarajevo it was concluded that it was important to prevent any inflows of funds from our “Merkator” to Croatia or any other country. He has stressed that each country is independent, and that we all started consultations with “Merkator” and suppliers and that Serbia has shown an utterly responsible approach to the issue.

“It is a crisis situation, we have no needs for any radical measures since “Merkator” is operating in a stabile manner, making no debts towards smaller suppliers, and with big suppliers it has special contracts. As far as everything is within the law, we have no needs to undertake measures. Stabilisation of “Agrokor” in Croatia will affect the operations of “Merkator”, says the minister.
Speaking of the regional message to be sent in the meeting of the ministers of trade and economy from Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro on Wednesday, in Belgrade, Mr Ljajić has emphasised that we all have economic interests to be protected and he expects that all countries should embrace the measures to protect them.

“We expect each country to say what it would do regarding the stabilisation of the business, which measure it would undertake and if there is something we can jointly do in order to protect the employees and suppliers”, Mr Ljajić concluded.
