Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić has met early today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Ibrahim al-Eshaiker al-Jaafari, and discussed about the future steps in order to improve the economic cooperation of the two countries.
Mr Ljajić and Mr al-Jaafari have pointed out that it is necessary to sign an agreement on economic, trade and scientific – technical cooperation, which has been aligned and which will be the basis for strengthening the economic relations of Serbia and Iraq.
The ministries have defined the fields of construction, agriculture, pharmacy, tourism and information and communication technologies as economic sectors which can bring the fastest increase of trade volume of the two countries.
In that respect, Minister al-Jaafari has invited all interested Serbian companies, particularly those from the field of construction, infrastructure and IT sector, to participate in the activities of reconstruction of Iraq.
