Macedonian Minister of Agriculture Ljupčo Dimovski informed the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, that the Macedonian government have started the procedure for the abolition of controversial regulation for restricting import of wheat and flour.
Although the Regulation provides that import of wheat and flour to Macedonia is limited until 31st December this year, the controversial legislation in the part related to wheat shall terminate 2nd September. Already since Monday export ofwheat from Serbia to Macedonia will be able to perform without any restrictions.
The Regulation, in part related to the flour will expire 15thSeptember, when flour will be able to be exported without restrictions to Macedonia.
Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said that he expects that Macedonia will not continue to resort to any kind of restrictive measures, because it is in the interest of both countries that fluctuation of goods should be free in both directions. If all the potentials would be used, the volume of trade between Serbia and Macedonia should be increasedfrom the current 600 million to one billion Euros, said Ljajic.
