Five million RSD for international competition of youth

State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić, has said that it is necessary to ensure that young people of Serbia can participate in international competitions on which can demonstrate and develop their talents and knowledge, representing their country in the best light.

At the ceremonial granting of contracts on realisation of projects for the support to the international competition to the representatives of non-government organisations, in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications, Ms Matić has underlined that the support is particularly important in the field of computers, information science, mathematics and physics, which are the foundation of the professions of the future.

Five million RSD for international competition of youth

At the Public Competition of the Ministry for projects of support to international competitions in the mentioned field there were five million dinars granted for four projects: Coup of Mathematical Grammar School – Foundation “Almagi”, International Competition in Physics. Association of Physicists, International Tournament of Young Physicists – Association for promotion and popularisation of science, and International Competition in Information Science and Computer Literacy “Dabar” – organisation of Information Technologies – Association of Professors of Serbia.

“Responsibility of the government is to invest in the best children. Ministry in charge of telecommunications in the past five years has supported their preparation and participation in international competitions and the success they achieve is great. Our representatives regularly win medals and in these fields they are shoulder to shoulder with the most developed world countries.

Ministry will continue with financing and with the institutional support, but it is important that other sectors become involved in nourishing and encouraging the young talents, as well as private sector. Such sponsorship not only raise the reputation of the country and companies, but ensure the future staff of companies among the most skilled and most talented members of the young generations”, says State Secretary.
