“Goal of the campaign “IT Caravan” is to teach children about dangers existing on the Internet, but also to motivate them to use new technologies to improve their talents and skills”, says State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić, at the presentation of the campaign “IT Caravan 02” at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
Addressing the pupils of primary school “Žarko Zrenjanin”, for whom a programme on protection against digital violence and advantages of Internet use was presented, she invited them to think about that faculty when making the decision about their future education, but also to use the technologies for other fields of their interest.
Pupils were greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Rade Doroslovački, saying that the faculty is the largest one in South-East Europe, stating that this year 2367 students were enrolled, out of whom 900 enrolled in the IT departments.
On this occasion the representatives of the school were given an educational set of robots. After the presentation led by an actor and musician Bojan Ivković, a psychologist and expert for digital communications Ana Mirković, and inspector of the Ministry of Interior Rade Vuković, instructors from the Edulab Association, organised a workshop on robotics for the pupils.
Campaign of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, for smart and safe use of new technologes “IT Caravan” was launched in 2016, and this year is being realised from April 12 until May 25, with the partners such as the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ministry of Interior, Organisation “Save the Children” fo North-West Balkans and company Microsoft.
