End of IT Caravan 03 live from Novi Pazar and Belgrade

State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić, has said in the live stream of the ceremonial end of this year’s school campaign IT Caravan 03, the Ministry will work further on prevention and education of children on safety of use of new technologies, and the promotion of digitalisation in education.

The pupils, parents, and teachers participating in the programme of IT Caravan 03 in the Cultural Centre of Novi Pazar, and all the schools following our live stream via the Internet, were addressed by the State Secretary from the Primary School “Kosta Abrašević” in Belgrade, which joined the live stream on the channel Smart and Safe. “IT Caravan is teaching you about all the dangers at the Internet, but also about the benefits of modern technologies, even though you sometimes know more than the adults, we won’t stop carrying out this programme in order to include as many schools as possible in education on safety on the Internet”, says Ms Matić.

A representative of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development Bojan Radić joined from Belgrade while in Novi Pazar, where the programme was attended by schools “Stefan Nemanja”, “Bratstvo”, “Rifat Burdžović Tršo”, “Desanka Maksimović”, and “Vuk Karadžić”, pupils were greeted by the Assistant Minister for Electronic Communications and Postar Services in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Irini Reljin.

On February 27, the programme of IT Caravan 03, consisted of the interactive presentation “What’s the easiest way to ruin your life online”, and digital workshops for children and parents, apart from Novi Pazar, were carried out also in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, and Niš, for the total of 26 schools, and over 3000 primary school pupils. There were also public promotions for citizens while workshops for parents are carried out in six more cities in Serbia: Sečanj, Zrenjanin, Leskovac, Čačak, Kraljevo, and Užice. Direct live stream of the presentations organised from Niš and Novi Pazar were watched by more than 800 schools, or round 25000 pupils.

Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications has conducted the IT Caravan for the third consecutive year, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development and company Microsoft, and this year the partners are the National Association of Parents and Teachers of Serbia, and the Foundation Petlja. Within the campaign the National Contact Centre for Online Safety of Children was promoted, which marked one year of operation on February 27.
