State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić has said at the promotion of new technological solutions of “Huawei” company that the aim of the technological development and the investment in the information and communication technologies is to overcome the digital gap and ensure a general access to digitalisation benefit.
She has underlined the commitment of Serbia to accept the latest digital trends, pointing out that the Strategy for development of new generation networks until 2023, adopted in April this year, promotes the use of computers in clouds and Internet of Things, as well as development of mobiles systems of fifth generation (5G).
State Secretary has reminded that the cooperation with Chinese company “Huawei” is in line with the implementation of the Memorandum of Development of Information Silk Road, signed by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism, and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić, and President of the National Reform and Development Committee of the People’s Republic of China, Sue Shaoshi.
“Within the implementation of the Memorandum, an economic zone has been established for the cooperation in the field of “smart cities”, creation of platforms for electronic trade, exchange of information services and technologies, smooth logistics and exchange of market information”, says Ms Matić, stressing that the technical realisation of the activities defined by the Memorandum will be contributed by two agreements on strategic partnership signed with “Huawei” company – Agreement on development of broadband infrastructure in the Republic of Serbia, and Agreement on development of information and communication infrastructure in educational institutions.
On the occasion of yesterday’s meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of AP Vojvodina, and Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Ivan Đoković, Ms Matić has announce the possibility of working together with “Huawei” company on the project Novi Sad – a smart city.
