Counselling for market inspectors

In the period November 16-18, 2016, in Aranđelovac, in the Hotel “Izvor”, a Seminar for market inspects was held, named “Mediators in sale-trade and lease of real estate as agents-surveillance of market inspection”, organised by OSCE.

The idea for having this Seminar is to publish the Report by the MONEYVAL Committee of June 9, 2016, on performed assessment of the system for fighting ML/FT in the Republic of Serbia.

The Seminar was attended by 40 republic market inspectors from all market inspection departments, as follows: Belgrade, Nosi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Subotica, Šabac, Jagodina, Kruševac, Kraljevo, Čačak, Užice, Prokuplje, Požarevac, Leskovac, Vranje, Zaječar, Bor, Valjevo and Kikinda, who directly control the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financial Terrorism and the Law on Mediation in Sale-Trade and Lease of Real Estate, with agents.

The Seminar was attended also by Ms Lidija Stojanović, Chief Market Inspector and Mr Zoran Popović, an OSCE representative, who gave a speech in the introductory part on the significance o the seminar’s topic.

Ms Lidija Stojanović presented to the present inspectors the activities to be undertaken by the market inspection for improving the surveillance for prevention of money laundering in mediation in sale-trade and lease of real estate in 2017.

Lecturers were the representatives of the Administration for prevention of money laundering and Market Inspection.
The Seminar made clarifications regarding the provisions of the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financial Terrorism, with a special focus on the implementation of activities and measures and monitoring the customers, then on NRA, Report of the MONEYVAL Committee, Recommendation for reporting suspicious transactions, the market inspectors learned about the Draft guidelines for assessing the risk of money laundering and financing terrorism for mediators in sale-trade and lease of real estate, Indicators, case studies were presented, and within the workshop there was a review of the content of control lists, referring to the mediation in sale-trade and lease of real estate.
