State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić has congratulated to the team of the Mathematical Grammar School from Belgrade for winning the first prize, as well as for winning individual medals at the International Zautikovska Olympic Competition of mathematics, physics and IT science in Alma Ati in Kazakhstan.
“This is a huge success for our young talents, in the international competition of over 400 pupils, and another great promotion of our country to the world. The medals won by the pupils of the Mathematical Grammar School and other young mathematicians, physicians and IT scientists, are a great encouragement for the state to keep reforming education and providing young talents with a good school system, but also with the reason to stay in the country after completing education”, Ms Tatjana Matić has said.
She has reminded that the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications is implementing the connection of all schools in Serbia to the Academic Network of Serbia, which will ensure free and safe Internet, and good infrastructure for the existing introduction of IT Science as a mandatory subject in the curriculum.
As she has stated the team of the Mathematical Grammar School, in the Olympics which took place in Kazakhstan in the period from 12 to 17 January, won the first prize, while the team members also won five individual gold medals and two bronze medals. The team members are: Odnjen Tošić, Aleksa Konstantinov, Aleksa Milojević, Mihajlo Sporić, Dušan Novičić, David Milićević and Kosta Bizetić.
