Assistant Minister for bilateral economic cooperation Maja Madrapa Gašić has said at the celebration of the National Day of Serbia at the World Exhibition Expo Astana 2017 that the objective of the Serbian programme is to present the cultural heritage and rich tradition of our country as a touristic offer of Serbia.
“We are using the opportunity to present ourselves to 115 countries participating here and out Asian partners, as a country with a lot of touristic potentials”, says Mrs Madrapa Gašić.
With the increase of the number of tourists by 13 per cent and one billion euros of income in 2016, Serbia is positioned on the touristic map of the world, and Belgrade as one of the fastest growing continental touristic destination in Europe is marking an increasing popularity and recognition in the Asian continent.
Celebrating the National Day of Serbia at the World Exhibition Expo Astana 2017 was organised by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications with the support of the Tourism Organisation of Serbia.
The all-day programme cover the cultural content, presentation of touristic offer and films on Serbia, performance of the artist Jela Čelo, academic cultural and artistic association LOLA and concert of Jelena Tomašević.
The audience was greeted by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Kazakhstan Bakenov Ernar Bakijtanovich and Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Kazakhstan Vladimir Matić.
The largest world exhibition, Expo Astana 2017, was opened on June 10 and will last until September 10 this year. It will be participated by 115 countries and 20 international organisations, over 5 million visitors are expected from the entire world. Partners of the Serbian Pavilion in Astana are companies EPS, NIS, Energoprojekt and Feromont Inženjering.
On Monday, July 10, on the Serbian Pavilion in Astana, the National Science Day and Birthday of Nikola Tesla will be orgnaised.
