Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić met today with the Minister of Economy of Bulgaria Bozidar Lukarski to talk about improving the overall economic relations between the two countries and the possibilities for increasing the volume of trade exchange.
Deputy Prime Minister Ljajić and Minister Lukarski reached an agreement that it is necessary to sign intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in tourism and on joint appearance on third markets, in order to raise economic relations to a higher level.
Speaking about the tourist exchange between the two countries, Ljajić emphasized the fact that for the first four months of this year, the Bulgarian tourists were the most numerous of all foreign tourists coming to Serbia. The number of Bulgarian tourists in the first four months of 2015 increased by 72% compared to the same period last year, said Ljajić.
Minister Lukarski said that Bulgarian businessmen are ready to participate in the privatization process in Serbia, noting that a business forum will be held within a meeting of the Joint committee for economic cooperation between the two countries today and tomorrow. He stated that this meeting will be attended by more than 40 companies from Bulgaria.
